๐Ÿฅฐ How do I maintain my well-being daily in the Software Development world?

Howdy friends,

To give your 100%, even 150% every day for your work (company, personal, etc.), you must have a proper plan to maintain your well-being, stay in good shape, and stay healthy. Right?

Enough sleep and enough eating are not sufficient though ๐Ÿฅน. Both ensure your personal needs, but won't ensure your resilience, speed, and flexibility ๐Ÿ‘€.

Thus, in this topic, I'll share my way of maintaining my well-being & healthy shape. And Yes, I am able to give my 100%+ every day wherever I work ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

Light morning exercise ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I'm a morning person. Yes, I go to bed at 12 AM and wake up at 7:40~8:00 AM every day (not really early lol ๐Ÿ˜†)

Every morning, I'll have a cup of water, then have some light exercises, my go-to exercises are:

  • Jumping rope

  • Jumping jack

  • Running on the spot

I usually exercise for around 5 to 10 minutes. After the light workout, it would make me fully awake, feeling bumps ๐Ÿ’ช.

Morning coffee โ˜•๏ธ

Yeah, I'm addicted to this, can't get away haha. My favorite coffee is Vietnamese Milk Coffee (I usually buy that from a popular store in Vietnam called Highlands Coffee) โ˜•๏ธ.

Coffee is good for your health too (read the research), just 1-2 cups a day and you'll be fine.

Stay hydrated ๐Ÿ’ฆ

I drink about 3 liters of water daily. Based on your weight & height, most people would recommend you drink > 2 liters a day ๐Ÿ’ฆ.

I have a small cup (around 250ml), when working and out of water, I'll have to go downstairs and get some. Thus, I have 2 birds with 1 stone, I can do some light walking (including stair climbing) and I can stay hydrated ๐Ÿ˜†.

Stay hydrated friends, water is really good for your health and organs.

Have lunch on time ๐ŸŒฎ

There are people who skip lunch. There are people who eat lunch late (due to anything, e.g.: meeting).

But not for me. I always have lunch on time (12 PM every day) and I won't skip lunch.

On weekdays, I book the lunchtime (from 12 PM to 1 PM), mark it as OOO, and automatically reject any meeting invitation ๐Ÿฅน.

"During meals an angel descends, for it is a sacred time"

- Grandma of Kamen Rider Kabuto, once said

It is not healthy to have any meeting at your lunchtime. If that's the case, immediately contact your supervisor/engineering manager to solve that out ๐Ÿฅน.

Not only for lunch but for every meal, I'll have them exactly on time.

Workout after work hour ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ

After working hours, I usually work out for 30 mins to 1 hour ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ.

It helps us to release the stressful things after work. Working out gives you a peaceful state of mind. And yes, increase your stamina, strength, and flexibility.

Many birds with one stone, isn't it? ๐ŸŽ๏ธ

Alternatively, you can go out for a long walk, running, or anything that you like. Physically training really cool and helps us a lot.

Hobby time ๐ŸŽ‰

After dinner & spent some time with my family, I'll have some time left before going to bed. And that's hobby time ๐ŸŽ‰

Having hobbies is really joyful. Doing what you like reduces stress & brings happiness ๐Ÿฅฐ.

Hobbies are varied. For me, depends on the mood, I would:

  • Watch superhero movies/episodes

  • Play video games

    • I usually play League of Legends (normal or ARAM) โš”.

    • Recently, I've been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 again, after that, I'd check out GTA V (lol it has been around for 10 years and I haven't actually played it) ๐Ÿค .

    • Also, Minecraft, freaking love the game and build crazy stuff there haha ๐Ÿงฑ.

  • Read/Research trendy tech stuff

  • Check out figures/cosplay (my newest hobby ๐Ÿ˜‚ lol).

Then I'll call it a day.

That's how I keep up the pace and maintain my well-being state. How about you?
